Our Mission

We exist to make and multiply worshippers of Jesus

Our Motives

Why do we do what we do? Our motives are:

WORSHIP

We exist first and foremost to behold and enjoy God. Worship is not just something we do on Wednesdays - it is the posture of our entire lives. We want to be a people so captivated by Christ's beauty and grace that our hearts overflow with joy, obedience, and praise in everything we do.

TRUTH

We stand on the unchanging, life-giving Word of God. Scripture is our final authority and the foundation for all teaching, counsel, and decision-making. We speak the truth in love, trusting that God's Word brings freedom, conviction, and transformation.

MERCY & HOSPITALITY

Because God has welcomed us through Christ, we joyfully welcome others. We want to be a Church marked by compassion - bearing burdens, meeting needs, and opening our homes and hearts to friends, neighbors, and strangers. Mercy and hospitality are not side ministries; they are essential expressions of the gospel.

MULTIPLICATION

Disciples make disciples.

We believe every believer is called and empowered to help others follow Jesus - whether through our 15-week and 15-month discipleship cohorts, weekly home groups, or simply shared life. Multiplication is not a program; it is our culture.

GOSPEL UNITY

We are one family in Christ.

The gospel breaks down dividing walls and unites us across backgrounds, personalities, and stories. We pursue humility, forgiveness, and relational wholeness. Unity is not uniformity - it is a shared commitment to love one another as Christ has loved us.

Our Strategy

How do we grow and carry the gospel into our city? We:

WORSHIP WITH THE MANY

[Gathered worship on Wednesdays]

Every week we come together as one family to behold the greatness of God. Through preaching, singing, prayer, and the Lord's Supper, we are re-centered on the gospel and renewed by the beauty of Christ.

This is where awe is awakened.

Where seekers and skeptics are engaged.

Where our identity as the people of God is reinforced.

The Many remind us that God is building a people - not just individuals.

ABIDE WITH THE FEW

[House groups throughout the city on Sundays]

We grow best when we are known, loved, and challenged in authentic spiritual community. Our house groups are places where we practice what Scripture calls us to:

  • confessing sin
  • praying for one another and those far from God
  • bearing burdens
  • discussing the Word
  • sharing meals
  • building deep friendships
  • cultivating spiritual transformation

This is where faith becomes daily life, where the gospel touches our schedules, habits, relationships, and decisions.

The Few shape us into a true spiritual family.

GO, TWO BY TWO

[Our 15-week and 15-month discipleship pathways]

Jesus sent his disciples two by two - because mission was never meant to be done alone. At Barnabas, we do the same.

Our 15-week and 15-month pathways produce Christians who:

  • have vibrant devotional rhythms
  • share the gospel in everyday life
  • lead others spiritually
  • live as restorative presences at home and in the places of work and play
  • multiply disciples who do the same

This is where everyday believers learn spend time with God and live on mission with confidence and joy.

Two by two, the gospel spreads through ordinary people filled with extraordinary awe.
